For the second year in a row, my wife has entered her chili in the Mays Landing Merchants Association Fall Festival chili contest. And for the second year in a row, she has earned a ribbon (and cash prize) with a top 3 finish in the competition.
Needless to say, she makes a very tasty chli (among other dishes). She gives the chili a nice texture by using three types of beans and adding in potatoes. Somehow she gives it a kick without overpowering the robust flavor. And the end result… well, the end result is award-winningly good.
Mmmm…. I’m getting hungry now just thinking of it.
Anyway, on behalf of our children and the other writers at That Other Page, I’d like to take a moment and say “congratulations!” to my wife, Mary Ann. Nice job, Hon, we’re all very proud of you (and lucky to be able to enjoy your chili a lot more often than just once a year).
